THE THIRD DAD has just won Best UK Short at London's 15th annual East End Film Festival!
In what turned out to be a fantastic year for women at the festival, THE THIRD DAD's Theresa Moerman Ib was one of the four female directors to receive an award. The other three award-winners were Leyla Bouzid for the feature drama As I Open My Eyes, Rokhsareh Ghaem Maghami for the feature doucmentary Sonita, screenwriter (and director) Rachel Tunnard for the British feature Adult Life Skills.
“It’s fantastic to see so many women represented,” said EEFF director Alison Poltock to Screen Daily. “With women making up less than 14% of filmmakers in the UK, it shows that whilst the quantity may be low, clearly the quality is extremely high.”
